SUMMER RESIDENCE

When approaching this project, Walsh Architect wanted to create a design that was simplistic in its approach and conception. However, the projected outcome mandated a funtional, intimate space. The design clearly adhered to a Greek Revival Style with high ceilings and well considered details.
This residence used a customized design, prefabricated in a factory, and delivered to the foundation on the property. Factory constructed buildings have come a long way since the mobile home. The controlled climate of the setting of the construction of the house eliminated many of the obstacles: material waste, time delays and ambiguous construction costs. At the same time this process maintained quality and durability.
In the end, the project accomplished its goals and the small complex of structures adhered to the style of the area and the environment. However, the cost finished considerably less and the house was completed in six weeks. Ultimately, this building has become an incredibly comfortable and functional space for summer living.
